Gemma Louise Wright LISTD, BA (Hons) & Acrobatic Arts Certified
Gemma studied Dance and teacher training at the The Centre Performing Arts College, London. During her time at the college, she worked to the penultimate level of licentiate gaining her teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern and Tap. And represented the college with many performances.
After working through her college years, she went on to perform across the UK and abroad. From Scarborough to Wales & then onto Morocco (among many locations), Gemma gained a wealth of experience collaborating with the best dancers in the industry, going on to choreograph for Pantomimes and many other performances.
Following her professional dancing career, Gemma went on to complete a degree in teaching at Greenwich University. This lead to work in Performing Arts Colleges, Secondary and Private Schools passing on her experiences and training pupils to a very high standard in GCSE’s. Gemma is also a pilates and Acrobatic Arts certified instructor.
WrightDance was setup in Joydens Wood in 2015 as a way to offer classes to local children in the area. From simply a couple of classes at the weekend, growing into a small school, she now has an offering to attract many young dancers. With annual performances, Theatre trips, Holiday Clubs, ISTD examinations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Gemma is fun, energetic, charismatic and able to inspire and offer creativity that will only encourage the students that she teaches. She is delighted to welcome children of all ages and abilities to Wright Dance Classes.
Elise Dixon, ISTD Dance & Acrobatic Arts Certified
Elise started dancing at the age of 2 taking classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Pointe work and Musical Theatre. After attending Bird College she continued her passion for dancing and began her career as a professional.
Elise’s performing credits include Disneyland Paris and Pantomime with Craig Revel Horwood, Antony Costa and ‘Bobby Davro’ in Kent. She has also appeared on ‘Got to Dance’ in a tap group in 2010.
She is now a DDE Qualified ISTD Modern Teacher, has 3 years experience coaching gymnastics and is Acrobatic Arts Certified. Bringing her expertise to all ages and abilities of Children at Wright Dance.
Ciara Williams, Singing & Musical Theatre
Ciara started her singing career at the age of 16 studying Music Performance at Miskin Theatre, successfully achieving her level 3 diploma. She then went on to study Commercial Music at Canterbury Christchurch University to gain her degree in Music.
Alongside her own performance and vocal singing skills, she also gained experience in songwriting and the technical side of the industry. Having experience teaching singing at Rocket Music School she is looking forward to sharing her expertise with our pupils at Wright Dance.
Ciara teaches vocals in the performing arts classes, in both individual and group sessions, further developing our Singing and Musical Theatre branch.
Cameron Morgan, Holiday camps & Clubs
Cameron started dancing at a young age with Ballet, Tap and Modern. Cameron completed her level four diploma in dance at the Miskin theatre and she is now in her final year of study at LMA University, to complete her dance performance and Choreography Degree.
Cameron absolutely loves to teach all styles of dance and all ages of children at Wright Dance, as she wants to help develop the future performers of the industry.
Matthew Dowall, Drama & Acting
Matthew started Dancing and Acting at the age of 7. He made his first TV appearance at 10 and continued his training into full time Theatre School. Since then, Matthew has worked professionally and moved into teaching and Directing nearly 20 years ago.
Matthew has taught all over the Country and spent the 12 years at Italia Conti teaching Acting across the age range and fulfilling the role of Deputy Head Teacher. Matthew is also an examiner for the AQA exam board and on the Examining Panel for LAMDA where his role includes examining internationally as well as delivering Workshops for both the Performance and Communication Specifications.
At Wright Dance, Matthew will be teaching acting within performing arts classes to further develop our drama department, and working on audition skills and Lamda exams.
Emily Merritt, Dance & Musical Theatre
Emily begin her dance training in a variety of styles at the age of 3.
After graduating from Musical Theatre collage, Reynolds performing Arts in 2020, she started her professional performing career.
Throughout the last few years she has performed in Morocco, Egypt and all around the UK. She is currently on a UK theatre tour, TINA Live and performing around the country with BORN GAGA.
Emily loves teaching different genres of dance and Musical Theatre to children of all ages at Wright Dance!
